Our Story

Matteo and Natasha's love story began back in 2010 when they both started high school together at Iroquois Ridge. Little did they know that their paths would cross in such a significant way.

Though they knew of each other in high school, they had very limited interaction and cruised their way to graduation, ready to embark on their separate journeys. Matteo headed to McMaster University in Hamilton, while Natasha set her sights on McGill University in Montreal.

In 2016, chance had them crossing paths once again, provoking a friendship that blossomed into something more. They started dating long distance, navigating the challenges that came with it, but their love only grew stronger. Despite the distance that separated them, their friendship endured. Matteo & Natasha kept in touch through late-night phone calls, texts, and video chats, finding comfort in the company of each other. 

In 2018, Natasha graduated from McGill and decided to return to Ontario, bringing her educational journey full circle. This marked a turning point in their relationship. The pair decided to take a big step together and adopted an adorable dog named Jax. Jax quickly became an essential part of their lives, strengthening their bond even further.

That same year, they embarked on a memorable adventure together when they traveled to Barbados solidifying their joint love of travel. The beautiful beaches and vibrant culture of the island served as the backdrop for new memories and shared experiences that deepened their love.

Their love for travel continued in 2019 when they explored new destinations together. From the picturesque landscapes of Victoria, British Columbia, to the charm of Baltimore, Maryland (to see a Raven’s game of course), and the vibrant city life of Montreal, Quebec, they cherished each moment they spent exploring the world hand in hand.

During the pandemic, when the COVID-19 had the world in its grip, Matteo and Natasha found creative ways to stay connected and entertained while apart and, when possible, together. With travel restrictions, lockdowns, and social distancing measures in place, they turned to fun and engaging DIY projects like the backyard deck to fill their time and bring joy to their relationship.

In 2022, they reached another significant milestone in their journey. Matteo and Natasha decided to put down roots and bought their first house together, a place where they could build a future filled with love and happiness. It was a symbol of their commitment to each other, a commitment that had only grown stronger over the years.

In that same year, the couple celebrated their 7th anniversary as a couple, reflecting on all the adventures they had shared and the love that had sustained them through it all. To top it all off, on their anniversary, in their new home, Matteo got down on one knee and proposed, asking Natasha to be his partner for life and fill this home with happy memories. With tears of joy, she said yes, sealing their love with a promise to spend the rest of their lives together.

The journey from high school friends to lifelong partners was filled with love, adventure, and the unwavering belief that distance could never diminish the love they had for each other. Matteo and Natasha's love story is a testament to the power of patience, communication, and the magic of finding your soulmate.
